Overview

The order book is the heart of YC365's trading system, providing real-time visibility into market depth, liquidity, and trading activity. Understanding how to read and use the order book effectively is essential for successful trading on our prediction market platform.

What is an Order Book?

Definition

An order book is a real-time, continuously updated list of all buy and sell orders for a specific prediction market condition, organized by price level. It shows market depth and helps traders make informed decisions about order placement and execution.

Core Components

  • Bid Side: All buy orders (buyers willing to purchase at specified prices)
  • Ask Side: All sell orders (sellers willing to sell at specified prices)
  • Spread: The difference between the highest bid and lowest ask prices
  • Market Depth: The quantity of orders at each price level

Information Displayed

  • Price Levels: All price points where orders exist
  • Order Quantities: Total token quantity at each price level
  • Order Count: Number of individual orders at each price level
  • Time Priority: Order sequence within each price level
